Create a subscription template

You can use the Self-Care Portal to create a subscription template that applies to one or more subscriptions. A subscription template is a payment plan that defines the billing behavior of a subscription.

The following table describes the fields that you complete when you create a subscription template:

Field Description
Merchant Ref Unique identifier of the subscription template.
Name Name of the subscription template.
Description Additional information about the subscription template.
Type Indicates how you collect payments for the subscription. Select one of the following options:
Automatic — Automatically collect payments for each billing cycle. Every subscription that uses this template uses the same recurring price and setup fee.
Manual — Manually collect payments for each billing cycle. 
Automatic (without amounts) — Automatically collect payments for each billing cycle. Set the recurring price and setup fee when you create each subscription.
Period Type Indicates how often the subscription repeats. Select one of the following options:
Weekly — Subscription repeats once a week. 
Bi-Weekly — Subscription repeats once every two weeks. 
Monthly — Subscription repeats once a month. 
Quarterly — Subscription repeats once every three months. 
Annually — Subscription repeats once a year.
Period Count Indicates the total number of billing cycles for the subscription. Select one of the following options:
Unlimited — Subscription continues without an end date.
Limited — Subscription ends after a set number of billing cycles. If you select this option, you must also specify the number of billing cycles.
Recurring Price Amount that customers pay for each billing cycle of the subscription. The amount can't be 0.
Setup Price One-time fee that customers pay on the start date of the subscription. Leave this field blank if there is no setup fee.
Currency Currency of the subscription payment.
On Update Indicates what happens to active subscriptions that are linked to this template when you update the template. Select one of the following options:
Continue Subscriptions — Changes to the template don't affect linked subscriptions.
Update Subscriptions — Changes to the template automatically apply to linked subscriptions.
On Delete Indicates what happens to active subscriptions that are linked to this template when you delete the template. Select one of the following options:
Continue Subscriptions — Keep all linked subscriptions active when you delete the template.
Finish Subscriptions — Cancel all linked subscriptions when you delete the template.

Create a subscription template

  1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Customers, and then select Stored Subscriptions.
  3. Select the Create Stored Subscription tab.
  4. Enter the template details.
  5. Select CREATE.
