Mobile Sync app on your iPhone

Mobile Sync is an app that you can use to accept contactless payments with an iPhone. To set up the Mobile Sync app, you need to create an API key on the Self-Care Portal and link the API key to the app.

Before you begin

Download the Mobile Sync app from the App Store.

To download the Mobile Sync app, complete the following steps:

1. From your iPhone, go to the Apple App Store.
2. Search for the Mobile Sync app .
3. Select Get.

Getting started

To set up the Mobile Sync app on your iPhone, complete the following steps:

1. Create an API key on the Self-Care Portal.
2. Set up the Mobile Sync app.
3. Set up your supervisor credentials.
4. Log in to the Mobile Sync app.

Step 1. Create an API key on the Self-Care Portal

1. Log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/ (opens in a new tab).
2. From the navigation menu, select Settings > API Keys > NEW API KEY.
3. Enter the details for the API key:
   1. In the Key Alias field, enter a name for the API key.
   2. In the Notification Email field, enter your email address.
   3. In the API Permissions section, select the Transaction API checkbox.
   4. From the Access Mode dropdown menu, select Full Access.
   5. Select SAVE.
   6. Select the processing terminal that the API key applies to.
   7. Select SAVE.

Step 2. Set up the Mobile Sync app

Choose one of the following methods to link the API key to the Mobile Sync app:

• Set up with a QR code - If you have access to a computer, you can generate a QR code on the Self-Care Portal and scan it with your iPhone to link the API key.
• Set up with the Self-Care Portal - If you have access to only your iPhone, you can link the API key in the Mobile Sync app using your Self-Care Portal credentials.

Set up with a QR code

1. On your computer, log in to https://payments.payroc.com/merchant/selfcare/ (opens in a new tab).
2. From the navigation menu, select Settings, and then select API Keys.
3. Locate the API key that you've created.
4. From the Action column, select ..., and then select Device Setup.
5. Enter your password for your Self-Care Portal account, and then select Continue. The portal displays a confirmation screen with a QR code.
6. On your iPhone, open the Mobile Sync app, and then select Quick Setup.
7. Select Setup via QR code.
8. Use your iPhone to scan the QR code that appears on your computer screen.
9. (Optional) If you have multiple processing terminals, select the terminal that you want to link to the Mobile Sync app, and then select Next.

Set up with the Self-Care Portal

1. On your iPhone, open the Mobile Sync app, and then select Quick Setup.
2. Select Self-Care login.
3. Enter your Self-Care Portal credentials, and then select Login.
4. From the Action column of the API key table, select ..., and then select Device Setup.
5. Enter your password, and then select Continue.
6. Select QUICK DEVICE SETUP.
7. Select Open.
8. (Optional) If you have multiple processing terminals, select the terminal that you want to link to the Mobile Sync app, and then select Next.

Step 3. Set up your supervisor credentials

You use your supervisor credentials to log in to the app and to authorize certain actions in the app, such as refunds.

To set up your supervisor credentials, complete the following steps:

1. In the User ID field, create a numeric ID for the supervisor.
2. In the User name field, enter the name of the supervisor.
3. In the Password field, enter a password. We recommend that you use a strong password that contains a mixture of letters, numbers, and special characters.
4. In the Confirm Password field, re-enter the password.
5. Select Next. The app displays a confirmation screen.
6. Select Next.

Step 4. Log in to the Mobile Sync app

After you set up your supervisor credentials, the app prompts you to log in.

1. In the User field, enter your user name.
2. In the Password field, enter your password.
3. Select Login.

When you log in to the Mobile Sync app for the first time, the app shows you a tutorial about how to use its features. When you reach the main screen, the app also prompts you to agree to Apple's Tap to Pay on iPhone terms and conditions.
