Transaction types
You can use your device to:
- Run a credit sale.
- Run a debit sale.
- Void a transaction.
- Run a refund.
- Run a pre-authorization.
- Capture a pre-authorization.
- Print a presale ticket.
Run a credit sale
- Type the sale amount, and then tap Enter.
- Ask your customer to swipe, insert, or tap their card.
- To manually enter their card details, tap Enter Manually.
- (Optional) Your device prompts your customer to provide the following:
- Signature
- Tip amount
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Run a debit sale
- Tap Credit until the screen displays Debit.
- Type the sale amount, and then tap Enter.
- Ask your customer to swipe, insert, or tap their card.
- To manually enter their card details, tap Enter Manually.
- (Optional) Your device prompts your customer to provide the following:
- Signature
- Tip amount
- PIN
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Void a transaction
Note: You can void a transaction only if it's in an open batch.
- Tap Sale until the screen displays Void.
- Type one of the following:
- Transaction number from the receipt
- Last four digits of the card number
- Tap Enter.
- Type the password, and then tap Enter. The default password is the last four digits of the EPI, which the device displays on the screen.
- Make sure that the transaction details are correct, and then tap Confirm.
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Run a refund
- Tap Sale until the screen displays Refund.
- Type the refund amount, and then tap Enter.
- Ask your customer to swipe, insert, or tap their card.
- To manually enter their card details, tap Enter Manually.
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Run a pre-authorization
- Tap Sale until the screen displays Preauth.
- Type the pre-authorization amount, and then tap Enter.
- Ask your customer to swipe, insert, or tap their card.
- To manually enter their card details, tap Enter Manually.
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Capture a pre-authorization
- Tap Sale until the screen displays Ticket.
- Type the capture amount, and then tap Enter.
- Type the password, and then tap Enter. The default password is the last four digits of the EPI, which the device displays on the screen.
- Type one of the following:
- Transaction number from the receipt
- Last four digits of the card number
- (Optional) Your device prompts your customer to provide the following:
- Signature
- Tip amount
- Select a receipt method.
- To print a physical copy of the receipt, tap Print receipt.
- To send a digital copy, enter your customer’s mobile number, and then tap SMS Receipt.
Print a presale ticket
- Tap Main Menu ≡.
- Tap Page Down, and then tap Pre Sale.
- Type the presale ticket amount, and then tap Enter.
