# Run a sale with saved payment details in Roc Services

Roc Services web portal

You can save a customer's card to their profile when you run a manual card entry sale. You can then reuse the card for future transactions with the customer.

To run a sale and save the customer's card details, complete the following steps:

1. [Open the Virtual Terminal](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/virtual-terminal/run-a-sale-and-save-the-customers-card-details.md#step-1-open-the-virtual-terminal-0).
2. [Add items to the order](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/virtual-terminal/run-a-sale-and-save-the-customers-card-details.md#step-2-add-items-to-the-order-1).
3. [Run the sale](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/virtual-terminal/run-a-sale-and-save-the-customers-card-details.md#step-3-run-the-sale-4).

## Step 1: Open the Virtual Terminal 

1. Log in to [https://services.rocpos.com/login](https://services.rocpos.com/login).
2. From the navigation menu, select **Virtual Terminal**.
3. Select **Assign Customer**, and then choose one of the following options:
   - To select an existing customer, select the customer from the list.
   - To add a new customer, complete the following steps:
      1. Select **Add Customer**.
      2. Enter the customer's details.
      3. Select **Save**.

## Step 2: Add items to the order 

When you run a sale, you can add one or more items to your order. There are two types of items that you can add:

- [Add a quick item](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/virtual-terminal/run-a-sale-and-save-the-customers-card-details.md#add-a-quick-item-2) — A one-time item that you can create and add to the order.
- [Add a catalog item](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/virtual-terminal/run-a-sale-and-save-the-customers-card-details.md#add-a-catalog-item-3) — A commonly sold item in your catalog that you can reuse across multiple sales.

> **Note**: Before you add a catalog item, you must create a category and add the item to the category. For more information about how to create a catalog item, go to [Create a catalog item](https://support.payroc.com/en-US/core-products/roc-services/web-portal/transaction-management/create-a-catalog-item.md).

### Add a quick item 

For each item that you want to add, complete the following steps:

1. From the **Quick Charge** tab, use the on-screen keypad to enter the dollar amount of the item.
2. Select **+**.
3. (Optional) To edit the item name, hover over the item, and then select [pencil icon].

### Add a catalog item 

For each catalog item that you want to add, complete the following steps:

1. Select the **Catalog** tab.
2. Select the category.
3. Select the catalog item that you want to add.

## Step 3: Run the sale 

1. Select **Charge**.
2. Select **Manual Card**.
3. Select a tip amount, and then select **Pay**.
4. Enter the card information.
5. Select the **Save card** checkbox.
6. Select **Pay Now**.
7. When the receipt displays on the screen, complete one of the following actions:
   - To send the customer an email or SMS receipt, complete the following steps:
      1. Select **Send Receipt**.
      2. Enter the customer's email address or phone number.
      3. Select **Share**.
   - To print a receipt, select **Print**.
   - To close the receipt, select ![Close](https://support.payroc.com/assets/3848ad1b304dac6a.png)
8. (Optional) To verify that the card is saved to the customer's account:
   8a. From the navigation menu, select **Customers**.
   8b. From the list of customers, select the customer.
   8c. From the **Overview** tab, confirm the saved card appears on the customer's profile.
